Northwest Forest Republican Women (NWFRW) is an award winning federated club founded on June 6, 1974 under the leadership of the late Priscilla Petty. Priscilla had been active in a club that met in the evenings, and she believed that a daytime organization of Republican women was needed to better serve the rapidly growing northwest Harris County area. Within a few years, Northwest Forest Republican Women had grown to be one of the largest clubs in northwest Harris County and is active in the northwest area.
NWFRW provides many opportunities for women to get to know their elected officials and have a real and immediate input into their government at local, state, and national levels. Members have proposed ideas and had them develop into law.
Over the years members of our organization have volunteered many thousands of hours to the Republican cause. Members of this hard-working group serve as precinct chairs, campaign staff personnel, polltakers, voter registrars, and phone bank chairmen and workers. Two of our primary members have been elected to the State Legislature, some have been elected to the State Republican Executive Committee, several have been elected to judgeships, and members have served on committees within the Party and at the pleasure of Republican officials. NWFRW members serve as officers and members of the Texas Federation of Republican Women Board of Directors. Four members have received the TFRW 10 Outstanding Women Award.
NWFRW fundraising promotes community programs, educational projects, and supports Republican candidates. Since 2005 a $1,000 Priscilla Petty Scholarship has been awarded to a high school female graduate attending an accredited Texas four-year college. (Look for our scholarship application.)
Please accept our invitation to join with us in our efforts to support the Republican philosophy.
Club Achievement Awards
National Federation of Republican Women Award
The Club Achievement Awards are presented to clubs that demonstrate excellence in membership development, campaign activities, community relations, programs, and club functions. Recipients are recognized during the NFRW Awards Luncheon at their convention. NWFRW consistently earns the Diamond Award which is the highest award.
John Goodwin Tower Award of Excellence
The TFRW Awards Committee identified specific achievements in five categories - Club Function, Membership Development, Programs, Campaign Activities, Community Relations/Service - that define excellence in meeting TFRW Bylaws and Organization objectives. These achievements were then defined as desired standards for awarding the TFRW John Goodwin Tower Award of Excellence.
John Goodwin Tower pin and a Certificate of Accomplishment is presented to the President of all clubs that win this Award! The club in each member category that earned the most points will also be recognized. NWFRW has consistently earned the John Goodwin Tower Award which is given biennially at the TFRW convention.
TFRW Voter Registration Award (GOTV)
Northwest Forest Republican Women’s club received the Roger Williams Voter Registration award for large clubs in Texas at the TFRW state convention in Galveston, Texas, in November 2009.
Northwest Forest voter-registered deputies assisted with the voter registration drives at the new citizen induction ceremonies held approximately five to six times throughout the year at the M.O. Campbell Educational Building, an Aldine ISD facility. At each ceremony several members of the club distributed voter registration packets to the more than two thousand soon-to-be new citizens. They collected the forms, verified the information, and answered questions.
Club deputies also participated in voter registration drives held at the Barbara Bush Library during election years.
TFRW Ten Outstanding Women Award

The Ten Outstanding Women Award is given biennially at the TFRW Convention. NWFRW traditionally presents yellow roses to their club nominees regardless of whether they receive the award.
